A few years ago I was traveling through Sierra Leone. At low tide one morning, I walked the beach and saw the ocean give back what we'd put into it: plastic. Not a few bottles. An unbelievable amount, stretching down the shoreline as far as I could see. I'd read the statistics before. Standing in front of it was different.

That walk is the reason 2ZEBRAZ exists. I started looking for materials that could replace plastic in the everyday parts of our lives — and disposable tableware was an obvious place to begin. It's used once and thrown away by the billions. If anything deserved a better material, it was this.

But I had one rule from the start: it has to actually work. Most "green" disposables fail you the moment there's real food on them. The plate sags. The fork bends. The knife can't cut. So we built ours to hold up — plates from naturally fallen palm leaves that stay firm under a full meal, even with sauces and liquids, and bamboo cutlery where the knife cuts and the fork holds. Tableware that looks good on your table, does its job, and doesn't cost the planet.

The name is 2ZEBRAZ. If you've seen the photos — two zebras standing together, stripes overlapping until they look like one impossible animal, almost an optical illusion — you know why. It stops you. Each one unmistakable on its own, beautiful, and unlike anything else. That's what came back from Africa, and it's what we wanted this brand to be: not another disposable label you forget, but one that stands out.

What we make

Palm leaf plates. Square, heavy-duty, made from areca palm leaves that the trees naturally shed. No trees are cut. No plastic. No chemical coatings.

Bamboo cutlery. Real bamboo with a natural grain. The knife is serrated and cuts. The fork has full-length tines and holds. The spoon has a real bowl.

Event kits. Plates and cutlery sized to match in one box — for 25, 50, or 100 guests. The hardest part of hosting an event becomes a single click.

The story we don't put on the front page

We don't lead with sustainability. We lead with how the plates feel in your hand and what they do under a full dinner. Because if the product doesn't work, the sustainability story is just guilt with extra steps.

That said: every order plants a tree, every plate is made from material that didn't require cutting one down, and every piece of cutlery is the same bamboo that grows back faster than we can use it. The sustainability is built in. We just don't make a big deal about it.
